Experienced graphic artist Francis
K. does all the design and layout here. I have been painting, drawing,
illustrating and cartooning for many years. I have been working with Adobe
Photoshop almost since it was launched. My fine art website is
HERE. |

Before you come to me with your
ideas, you need to be satisfied that my artwork will be better than
something you or your friend (who has Photoshop!) can rustle up in an
hour. I believe that it will be. I have been dealing with printers for
years and believe me, they can be quite picky about things like
resolution, dpi, saturation, guide lines, colour profiles (RGB and/or CMYK),
bleed sizes, layers, file type, Pantone matches and various other details.
You simply will not get a professional product unless you are familiar
with and can specify all your technical needs. |

My studio is in County Galway,
Ireland but in these days of electronic transfer, I am as close to you as
your next-door neighbour! If you have an email address or an ftp webspace,
I can send or upload drafts as your design develops and you can make
changes up to the last minute before printing. |

I am sure that you will be
pleasantly surprised. You can spend as little as 50 EURO for a single page
insert. The number of pages determines the final cost but I have yet to
encounter an unsatisfied client. Ask them! |

Straightforward designs such as
4-page inserts, tray-inserts, posters, logos, etc. will take no more than
7 days - in many cases, less than that time. Bigger projects will take
between 10 and 15 days. You will be checking drafts daily. |

No. You will save more if you
present my artwork and specifications to a printer of your own choice.
Most commercial printers with a folding-machine and a guillotine are
equipped to produce CD inserts, etc. I will supply them with exact
specifications |

Where can I have my CD
manufactured? |
|
|
Providing that you use a reputable
recording studio, your producer/engineer will point you in the direction
of a good disc-duplicating plant. Ensure that the plant has the facility
to print my artwork onto the actual CD. |
 |
|
What do you need to get started
on my designs? |
|
|
First of all, I need an idea! Decide
if you need photos, original art, pen drawings, abstract shapes, a montage
or something totally original. Look at my 'Ideas' page and tell me what
your favourite CD covers are. Give me an idea of how many words you will
have in the text areas of the cover. Tell me the title of the CD and send
me the list of songs. It's all about communication. Together we can make
your album very special! |

You must supply your own
bar-code which we will incorporate into your artwork. Remember, if you
intend selling through a retail-store, it must have a bar-code. You can
find out all you need to know about acquiring a bar-code (in Ireland) at
the GS1 website
HERE. Some recording-studios supply
their clients with a bar-code. |
